The Ride is one of MTV’s most successful shows. Each episode follows a celebrities ride to fame, highlighting some their most important milestones along the way and culminates with a spotlight on the moment that changed it all.

A fresh start.

After running for many years the series was in need of new identity and visual design system. The solution was to give it a modern, clean and infinitely flexible identity and motion language, befitting of the vast array of stars who appear from a multitude of genres. The identity adapts with each act and the expressive graphic language can be tailored to each show.

The logo is designed to flex and grow to accommodate any artist.

Power in flexibility

Every element was editable, with a simple palette and kit that could be dialled up or down, depending on the artist, their style and their brand.

Fluid grids  /
The 16:9 grid system could adjust to house a variety of different content. Giving editors the ability to quickly switch between hero content.

Deliverables 

The design system covered a full suite of assets, including series titles, lower thirds and credits, as well as marketing templates for social media and OOH.
